Review of Football South Australia's Regulations.

SAPA recently conducted a comprehensive review of Football SA’s Competition Rules and Regulations due to the introduction of the Youth Competition in the 2025 season. This review included assessing the previous Competition Operating Regulations of the Senior Men’s, Women’s and Junior Girls competitions as well as the Grievance and Disciplinary Regulations.

The SAPA team reviewed, updated and advised on any inconsistencies or duplications across the Regulations, in particular those relating to the different Football SA competitions which previously operated under separate Competition Operating Regulations. SAPA consolidated these Competition Operating Regulations into one centralised document, which has simplified the process for clubs now only having to navigate through the Regulations with specific sections for the relevant competitions in which they participate.

Additionally, the previous Football SA Grievance and Disciplinary Regulations are now known as the ‘Disciplinary and Judicial Bodies Regulations’ which aligns with the national disciplinary framework of Football Australia.

The review has improved clarity, removed redundancies, aligns with national standards and has been approved by the Football SA Board ahead of the 2025 season. The amended Regulations and summary of the changes to the Regulations are available on the Football SA website.

"Football SA engaged SAPA to undertake a comprehensive review and update of the Rules and Regulations across Football SA competitions and the disciplinary framework. SAPA demonstrated exceptional expertise and a thorough understanding of our needs, responding promptly with actionable recommendations and providing clear, well-informed guidance.

Their contributions have significantly improved the process, ensuring alignment with national standards and leaving us in a stronger position moving forward. We are deeply grateful for SAPA's support throughout this process. Thanks to their dedication, all changes have been successfully implemented in time for the 2025 season.”
